The National Youth Talent Export Programme (NATEP). In an era where the global economy is increasingly powered by knowledge and talent, Nigeria is positioning itself to take advantage of the opportunities through the launch of the National Talent Export Programme (NATEP). The Federal Government of Nigeria launched NATEP on the 22nd of September 2023 at the 78th United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America. It aims to create 1 million jobs and boost Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings by harnessing the country’s vibrant human capital. NATEP will facilitate the jobs through 2 channels, namely through outsourcing and through physical talent exports.
Why NATEP
NATEP is set to drive the nation forward as a leading global hub for service exports, talent sourcing, and talent exports. It aligns directly with President Tinubu’s agenda for job creation, aiming to generate 1 million in-demand jobs across Nigeria within five years. More than just a job creation engine, NATEP is envisioned as a multifaceted initiative to inject substantial foreign exchange into the Nigerian economy through remittances, cultivate a massive tax income source for state governments, and foster innovation and sustainable growth through trade in service.
Key Objectives
Spurring job creation, boosting foreign exchange through service exports and talent remittances, and creating a substantial tax income.
