HRORBN

The Health Records Officers’ Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN) is a Federal Government agency established by Decree 39 of 1989 (now CAP H2 2004 LFN). And saddle with the mandate to control and regulate the practice of Health Records Management in Nigeria and matters relating thereto.

The functions of the Board amongst others include the following;

  • Determining the standards of knowledge and skill attainable to a person seeking to become a member of the profession of Health Records Management and improving on those standards from time to time as permissible by circumstance
  • Securing in accordance with the provision of the board’s enabling Act, the establishment and maintenance of a Register persons registered under the Act as member of the profession and the publication from time to time of lists of those person.
  • Conducting examinations in health records management and awarding certificates or diplomas to successful candidates as appropriate, and for such purpose the Board shall prescribe fees to be paid in respect thereof.

Mission: To establish a culture of excellence in Health Information Management practices, Education, Training and Research.

Vision: To recognize the potentiality in every person to excel and provide the enabling environment for advancing innovative education in Health Information Management for personal and professional growth.
